Tender Awarded

The Shire of Busselton accepted the tender from Marine and Civil for the refurbishment of the Busselton Jetty on Wednesday 15th April.  Marine and Civil will now spend the next 4 weeks organising sub-contractors for the construction and use the land just right of the Jetty to set up their base during this stage.  The first pile is expected to be driven in four weeks time, and the iconic Jetty Train and Underwater Observatory is due to re-open by early March 2010.

Visitors are encouraged to come and watch this exciting and unique process and access is still permitted for the first 200m allowing recreational swimming and fishing and a clear view of the project as it unfolds.  The Interpretive Centre is open and experiencing an influx of visitors, with the heritage museum providing history and the new refurbishment communications wall housing the plans for construction and will hold progress updates once the project is underway.
